Construction waste removal in the Sutherland Shire
Updated October 2026
Renovations produce rubbish faster than anyone plans for. A bathroom strip-out fills a corner of the yard with tiles and plasterboard, a deck rebuild leaves a stack of old hardwood, and suddenly the job site is half building work, half waste pile. Construction waste removal Sutherland Shire crews clear it so the trades can keep moving: they load the debris by hand, sweep the area and take it for sorted disposal.
We are a referral service. Describe the pile and we pass it to one of the insured local rubbish removal crews who work your suburb. You get a price before anything is touched. Get a fast quote
What the crews take
- Tiles, bricks, pavers and broken concrete in hand-loadable amounts
- Plasterboard and gyprock offcuts
- Timber, decking, fence palings and pallets
- Old kitchen and bathroom fit-outs: cabinets, benchtops, vanities, baths
- Offcuts, packaging, insulation batts and general site rubbish
Heavy demolition material is priced on weight as much as volume. A cubic metre of brick or tile rubble can weigh well over a tonne, against a few hundred kilos for mixed fit-out waste, and tip fees follow the weight. Be upfront about how much heavy material is in the pile and the quote will be accurate the first time.
A plain word on asbestos
If there is any chance the material contains asbestos (fibro sheeting, old eaves, backing boards behind tiles in houses built before 1990), stop. That is work for a licensed asbestos removalist, not a rubbish crew. The crews we refer will not load suspect material, and that is the correct response, not an inconvenience. If you are unsure, have it tested before the strip-out, not after the pile is on the lawn.
Removal crew or a skip bin
Skips suit a long job where waste trickles out over weeks. For a short, sharp strip-out, a crew is often simpler: no bin sitting on the driveway, no council permit if the skip would have gone on the street, no loading it yourself, and you pay for the volume actually taken rather than the bin size you guessed. In NSW a 4 cubic metre skip commonly starts around $400 and heavy-waste skips cost more, while crews price per cubic metre loaded. The sums are worked through in the rubbish removal cost guide.
Owner-builders and small trades
Plenty of jobs across Caringbah, Kirrawee and Taren Point come from owner-builders and solo trades who need a pile gone between stages. Crews can do scheduled clean-ups, end-of-job clears, and pre-handover tidies. If the certifier is coming Thursday and the pile must be gone, see same-day rubbish removal.
What it costs
Guide pricing only: around $70 to $150 per cubic metre is typical for Sydney, with heavy demolition waste at the top of the range or above it because of tip weight charges. A bathroom strip-out is commonly two to four cubic metres. The crew confirms a firm price from photos or a site look before loading. Get a fast quote
Frequently asked questions
Can they take soil, concrete or bricks?
In hand-loadable quantities, yes, priced by weight as much as volume. For many tonnes of excavation spoil, a tipper and excavator job, tell us anyway and we will point the enquiry to the right operator.
Do the crews sort the waste?
Yes, broadly. Clean timber, metal and rubble go to different streams where facilities accept them, which keeps disposal costs and landfill down. Ask the crew what they can divert on your load.
What about treated pine and painted timber?
Both are fine for the crews to remove. They go to general waste rather than green or clean timber streams, which is reflected in the price.
Will they collect from inside or upstairs?
Yes. Hand-loading from inside the house, a backyard or up and down stairs is normal work. Stairs and long carries add time, so mention them for an accurate quote.
